Ozone is
the created by adding a 3rd oxygen molecule to the O2 oxygen gas molecule
forming an unstable O3 molecule which is an unstable gas also known
as “activated oxygen”. Ozone is naturally created when oxygen (O2)
rises into the upper atmosphere and is exposed to the suns ultraviolet rays
creating the ozone layer which protects us from the sun’s harmful rays.
Since ozone is heavier, it naturally falls to the earth. This is the ozone
that naturally
purifies the earth's air and water. Ozone also naturally occurs when lighting
strikes in a thunderstorm. It can also be found near waterfalls.
Since ozone is an unstable gas, it can not exist for more than a short time.
The third oxygen atom breaks free and oxidizes bacteria, viruses and pollutants.
Bacteria, viruses, mold spores and odors are destroyed in the process. All that
remains after the reactions with ozone are the harmless compounds of pure oxygen
(O2), carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen (H2).
The unstable nature of ozone requires a toxic level of ozone to be generated
in the area to be effective, therefore the need for the OZONE SHOCK TREATMENT.
The ozone level must get so high in the area, that nearly, if not all, the oxygen
in the room is replaced with ozone (O3) molecules. That is when the OZONE SHOCK
TREATMENT reaches maximum effectiveness. It is important to note, no humans,
pets or plants can be in the area being OZONE SHOCK TREATED due to the toxic
levels of ozone and the reduced, if not the absence, of oxygen.
30-60 minutes after our equipment shuts off (operated by a timer), the remaining
ozone, due to it's unstable nature, breaks down. The 3rd oxygen molecule breaks
off and only pure O2 remains. It is then safe to enter the room, in fact it is
refreshing to smell the slightly sweet scent of pure oxygen in the air.
The OZONE SHOCK TREATMENT we provide can not be duplicated by running other
smaller equipment, design primarily for residential settings, for longer
periods of time.
The unstable “activated oxygen” or ozone, by it's nature breaks down
before an effective sanitation level can be reached. This is the way “Mother
Nature” design ozone, so we could live safely and healthily in her
environment. The natural analogy is a thunderstorm. It's violent, dangerous
and effective
and short-lived. Shortly after the thunderstorm ends, you sense the clean
sweet air we need for healthy lives.
